Planned Giving
THE BENEFITS TO YOU
You can provide for yourself and for places you cherish, like The Ridges, when you make a planned gift.
“I worked to save the Ridges because it gave me the chance to give something back for all I’d been given— and for all I’d been able to achieve in my life” said Olivia Traven, a Ridges Sanctuary founding member. A gift to The Ridges through your will or trust allows you to do the same— to give back something of the joy and pleasure The Ridges has provided you and your family. Through it, you can also make a lasting contribution to the preservation of Door County’s exceptional natural landscape.
A planned gift lets you, and you alone, decide what happens with your assets. And who benefits from them after you’re gone. It also gives you the flexibility to change your plans at any time should circumstances change.
By leaving a planned gift to The Ridges, you can provide for your own needs while helping sustain the sanctuary. Whether you leave a legacy of treasured land, an ongoing children’s program, a funded research project, or a gift for the “greatest needs” of The Ridges, your bequest ensures that your love of nature and of the sanctuary will live on.
THE BENEFITS TO THE RIDGES
Your gift can benefit all aspects of The Ridges’ threefold mission— stewardship, education and research— or it can target a project of special interest to you.
When you make an unrestricted gift for the “greatest needs” of The Ridges, it will be invested in The Ridges Sanctuary Endowment Trust. There it will join other gifts in supporting preservation of the sanctuary, education and scientific research. Your gift will grow with the assets of the principal and continue to give in perpetuity.
If you’d rather designate your gift to a specific purpose, you may support The Ridges’ Land Fund, Building Fund, or another project of special interest to you— perhaps ongoing research, a children’s program, a lecture series, or needed technology.
There are a number of ways to make a planned gift to The Ridges. One of the most common and easiest is through your will. To leave an unrestricted bequest to Ridges, you can include in your will a statement such as: “I give, devise and bequeath the sum of $__ (or __ % of the residue of my estate) to The Ridges Sanctuary, Inc., located in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin.”
You may also give through:
