June 23 • Wild About Wild Life

A wild program to start our series by David Drake from the Wisconsin Fish & Wildlife Service.

June 30 • Family Discovery Night

Nature with lots of hands-on and hands-in activities! Crafts, games, nature activities, up close and personal views of water critters. Learn about Whirlygig beetles, water striders, polliwogs, diving beetles, millipedes, and more! Nature snacks and fun for the family!

July 7 • Dragonfly Drama

Paul Burton, Door County’s own “Mr Dragonfly”, will share images and experiences in his study of these winged ‘warriors’. Sign up for his ‘in the field’ workshop on Friday morning July 8th—get up close with real live dragonflies!

July 14 • Mussels—Wisconsin Natives

Lisie Kitchel, a Conservation Biologist, will share insights on the native Wisconsin mussels and what there presence means to our river ecosystems. Sign up for her ‘in the field’ workshop on Friday morning July 15th.

July 21 • Restoration—How You & I are part of something bigger

Nancy Aten practices landscape architecture and consults on ecological restoration (www.landscapesofplace.com). Her work includes restoration plans and native landscape design. She will share her special insights on restoration of disturbed areas.

July 28 • Light Up The Range Lights

The Baileys Harbor Range Lights have been an icon of The Ridges Sanctuary since its beginning in 1937. Learn the history and romance of the 140+ year old buildings and the efforts to restore the Lower Range Light.

August 4 • Door County through Len’s Lens

Professional photographer, Len Villano, will share his amazing nature photography as well as tips and tricks for taking great photos. His work has been published in more then 30 different countries. Visit Lenvillanophotography.com to get a hint of his talent.

August 11 • The Lowdown on Dirt

David Lea, a permaculturist and member of SustainDoor will discuss the consequences of ignoring our most valuable resource, the soil under our feet!
