Hike the Ridges

Self-Guided & Naturalist Guided Hikes

Our campus is comprised of five distinct areas: Hidden Brook, The Sanctuary, the Family Discovery Trail (Closed during Winter), Appel’s Bluff (also closed during winter) and Logan Creek. All areas with the exception of Logan Creek are located in Baileys Harbor, WI.

Our naturalist-guided hikes are the best way to experience The Ridges. Approximately 2 hours in length, these relaxed walks highlight many of the features of the Sanctuary and are suitable for all ages. Learn about the history of the Ridges, the Baileys Harbor Range Lights (Summer Only), and of course the diverse flora of this unique natural area.

Check out our new 360 Tour!

During winter, experience The Ridges on snowshoes! Trails are well-suited for snowshoeing, but are not groomed. These hikes with a Ridges naturalist cover the cultural and natural history of the ridges and swales and highlight the peace and beauty of the winter woods. If snow cover is insufficient, the hike will be done without snowshoes. Snowshoe rentals are available from the Cook-Albert Fuller Center for $5/pair.

There is a $5.00 trail fee for all participants 18 and over. Children under 18 and Ridges members hike free. Guided Hikes are $5 for members, $8 for non-members, and 18 and under are free.
