Naturalist-Led Sanctuary Hikes 

The best way to see The Ridges is to join one of our naturalists on a two-hour guided hike. Sanctuary hikes run Fridays and Saturdays through March. View our upcoming hike schedule HERE.


Story Hour at The Ridges – Saturdays @ 11:00 am

Join the Ridges Staff for Story Hour! We will be reading nature themed books, featuring local authors, and will accompany each story with a related craft to take home. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while visiting with us.

 Naturalist-Led Appel’s Bluff Hike – Sunday, April 2nd

Join a naturalist to explore this varied landscape featuring ledges, a hardwood forest, and open fields. We’ll meet at the Cook – Fuller Center and then carpool to the trailhead. Moderate to easy hike.


Reflections on The Ridges – Watercolor Wings of Midwest Game Birds – Artist Fran Vail – Thursday, April 6th

Artist Opening 4:00 pm – 6:00pm

Lecture at 6:30pm


Midwest Crane Count – Saturday, April 8th

The purpose of the Crane Count is to help monitor the abundance and distribution of cranes in the Upper Midwest and to introduce people to cranes and their
natural environment. Counters are needed to survey for cranes on designated sites throughout Door County. No previous experience needed. End the morning with coffee and donuts at the Cook-Albert Fuller Center.
