Our mission has driven us to develop exceptional experiences for all individuals interacting with The Ridges, including our Backpack Adventure Camp campers. Camp has been an integral part of our annual programming since the 1980’s! We always look forward to working with campers and providing them with the opportunity to explore and adore nature.

Due to the ongoing changes and updates from the CDC and the State Department of Health Services (DHS) our team had to come together work through some difficult discussions.

We took the time to assess our offerings and have realized that to run summer camp safely and within the recommendations of the CDC and DHS, it will need to look different than previously scheduled. To ensure the safety of your children, your family and our staff, we will need to reduce the number of campers in each session and extend the time frame in which we spend with each group (it is not recommended to have a new group each week). The new schedule for 2020 Backpack Adventure Camp is as follows:

2020 Backpack Adventure Camp

All programs will run Monday – Friday 9AM-12PM

Cost: $300 Members | $360 Public per 2-week session

Session 1 : June 22nd – July 3rd

Session 2 : July 13th – July 24th

Session 3 : August 3rd – August 14th

To allow as many campers as possible to participate in our program this summer, each camper is only allowed to participate in ONE session.

To ensure the safety of all campers and staff we will be implementing the following things:

  1. Camp sessions will have a one-week gap between sessions to deep clean all spaces, reset, and minimize any potential cross contamination.
  2. We will also require that campers be in Door County for 14 days prior to the start of camp in order to participate.
  3. We will also be making changes to the drop off and pick up process, screening for illness in our staff and campers, staying outdoors as much as possible, and avoiding shared materials.

In addition, we will be accompanying our new camp experience with virtual programs and select family opportunities. We want to make sure that we can continue to provide our quality programming to everyone, even with this altered camp experience.

We want to do what we can to ensure the health and safety of all individuals interacting with The Ridges.
