Summer Camps

Backpack Adventure Camp (Registration opens March 1, 2019)

Throughout the month of July we invite campers age 4-6 and 7-11 to join us for weeks filled with adventure, exploration, and discovery. Our Backpack Adventure Camps are designed to provide your child or grandchild with outdoor experiences in exploring wetlands, forests and fields. Each day, your child will hike the trails using Ridges backpacks filled with bug boxes, nets and other tools needed to participate in hands on activities as they explore the wonders of the outdoors. Every Friday campers will enjoy Friday Fun Day – a day at the beach when families can join in for snacks and activities.

Our camps are structured to motivate children to explore the diversity of nature’s living creatures and habitats, to heighten their awareness of their surroundings and to motivate respect and empathy for each other and the environment.

Camps are held Monday through Friday, 9-Noon, and are a great opportunity for kids to make new friends, be inspired by our staff and connect with nature. Each camp is conducted by an adult camp educator with additional support from trained, qualified volunteers. Taken in sequence, the full-week camps are intended to build on skills and awareness from one camp to the next.
