5th Annual Owl-O-Rama

All programs are free and held at Cook-Albert Fuller Nature Center unless noted otherwise.

Owl Taxidermy Demo – 9:00 AM
Master Taxidermist Mike Orthober is well known in his field and has won many national and international awards. He also judges World Taxidermy Championships and teaches others his methods. Mike will be joining us at the Nature Center to demonstrate the delicate art of creating an Owl mount. Stop by the Center to watch Mike bring wildlife to life through taxidermy.

Eastern Screech Owl Nest Box Building – 9:00 AM – 10:30 AM
Cavity nesting owls like Eastern Screech Owls can be attracted with nesting boxes. Start your day by building a nest box and pick up some tips on where to locate it and when to put it out.
Fee: $30 members • $35 public

Owl Meet and Greet – 11:00 – 2:00 PM
Get up close and personal with some of Door County’s resident owls. Representatives from Open Door Bird Sanctuary will be on hand with birds for you to observe. Drop in any time between 11:00 AM and 2 PM to learn a little bit about what separates these silent night flyers from other raptors and birds.
